CARNIVORED

Indonesia is a famous place when it comes to brutal Death Metal underground music and so far the country has puked out quite a lot releases upon the surface of this rotting and stinking planet. Outfits like SIKSAKUBUR, JASAD, FUNERAL INCEPTION or TENGKORAK are well known far beyond the shores of their native country and were even able to built up a strong following abroad. CARNIVORED, a quartet (now reduced to a trio), aim to do it like their countrymen and want to spread their spawns world wide. The first step is done in form of their debut 10 tracker called "Revival". Even this Tangerang based commando of brutality doesn’t deliver something new or stuff never heard before, these lads come up with a solid performance which should please everybody’s ears into violent and intense music for roughly 30 minutes. I personally enjoy CARNIVORED’s aural assult and I find their tracks much more accessable than most of the other Indonesian bands which try sometimes too hard to outdo each other in terms of brutality. The technical level of each song is solid and they don’t make the mistake to exaggerate everything and avoid guitar wanking. This is a big plus as it makes the music flow while blasting almost through the entire album. Speaking about blasting: the snare drums got a decent mix here and don’t sound like the typical tin can like on many other productions. I also like Ronald’s vocals as he doesn’t try to be one of these "I am the most brutal vocalist of all time" type of growls aka frognoise / cookiemonster style. He sounds more natural in my humble opinion. "Revival" is a nice little disk for an entertaining half an hour. Lunatics into that kind of music should check them out and for lovers of Indonesian Death Metal it is a must have anyway. For more info vist the band here: www.facebook.com/carnivoreds.
