To Crawl Among The Gods
(self-financed)

CRIPPLER from East Finland are active since 2011 and have just unleashed their second demo called "To Crawl Among The Gods" and play US-styled Death Metal. As I was listening to "Altars Of Madness" the whole week in my car, MORBID ANGEL is the first name, which comes into my mind listening to the first tunes. They seem to be the biggest influence for this Finnish three-piece. Also their new vocalist and bass player Janne sounds like, he has never played anything else than this kind of Death Metal. This fine, only ten minutes lasting demo opens with the title track ‘To Crawl Among The Gods’, a real Death Metal steam roller, with deep guttural vocals, fast blast beats and pounding double bass in the background and typical US-styled guitar work. The production is very clear and professional and the songwriting is also very professional, far away from demo stage. The second track ‘Flaming Wreckage’ is another Death Metal wrecking ball and has also all the trademarks of US Death Metal and reminds a little bit of CANNIBAL CORPSE without sounding like a pure copy, but if you decide to play Death Metal, you hardly can invent anything new nowadays. This track lives from the vocals and the well fitting lead guitar and is pure old school. The second part is a bit slower but still very heavy. The last track is ‘Vicious Internment’ and immediately old VADER comes into my mind, listening to the first tunes of this track. Very solid Death Metal work and nothing to complain in the songwriting. All three tracks are about three to four minutes long and only focus on the basics, what is pure Death Metal here. As the songwriting skills are above average, CRIPPLER should be able to find a proper record deal soon.
