Subterranean Antiquity

Not to be confused with CINIS from Kalisz, this was the first information I obtained. So here you go, this is CINIS from Bialystok, Poland, founded in 2003 and "Subterranean Antiquity" is the second full-length album. And a real nice treatment for your rotten ears. Maybe the same country is just pure coincidence but the influence of VADER is most obvious. I even dare to say this album could also have been released under the moniker of their landsmen and nobody would have noticed that. Which by no means should be misunderstood. The music is well-crafted, the heritage of albums like "Blessed Are The Sick" and "Covenenat" or the work of VADER continued living throughout albums like this. Mid-tempo paced Death Metal with eruptions both fast and slow mixed with the typical riff (no longer Thrash Metal, but not yet genuine Death Metal), the like-it-or-not vocals, which make you think the vocalist is suffering from intestinal constipation. Did I mention the clear and transparent sound which makes you lean back and enjoy the dynamic songwriting? The only irritating aspect is the dull cover artwork. There are hundreds of brilliant artists out there to discover and they pickled the wrong one. But besides that, a superb Death Metal album. www.facebook.com/cinisofficial, www.oldtemple.com
