Brasil still seems to have a big Thrash scene, and “Killing Tendency” is the first album of this young band called DECIMATOR, which started to play in 1999 and since now had released three demos before entering the roster of Marquee Records. About this five-piece from Porto Alegre’s music, do you remember “Coma Of Souls” from German gods KREATOR? Well, then you know exactly what to find here. Yes, this is not something especially original, you understood well, but if you liked that record and need some more in the same vein, then take a listen to “Killing Tendency”. From the fast and pretty technical guitar riffs(not bad at all) to the highly intense, but not that inspired, drumming and, last but not least, harsh vocals totally in Mille Petrozza’s style, those ten tracks (seven plus three bonus ones) deliver powerful Thrash Metal in the vein of the beginning of the nineties, a bit away from the most classical stuff (SADUS could be named too, and even some of HYPNOGSIA’s brutality). I can’t say those guys didn’t do a good job as the recording is intense as fuck and the guitars are really well played, just pay attention to those great solos, but some originality wouldn’t be that bad, believe me. Anyways, if you’re searching for really aggresive Thrash Metal, but not too raw, go ahead for this, it won’t disappoint you, thrash til death! www.marquee.com.br
