DEICIDE
The Stench Of Redemption
(Earache Records)
38:35min

DEICIDE really caught me off guard. I guess most others as well. Let me just be brief and short for once, and tell you that this is superior Death Metal. The songs are done in the brutal DEICIDE tradition, the sound is excellent and Glen’s voice is… by the book of the dead. But, the main difference compared to the latest few boring releases is that they have added a lot of melody, especially in the solos. And, goddammit, DEICIDE has even managed to maintain the brutality. The melody in question together with the brutal manifestation has turned “The Stench Of Redemption” into a dynamic Death Metal album I would’ve guessed Morbid Angel could come up with any day. But DEICIDE? A most pleasant surprise.
