Wow! What a blast! DERANGED from Sweden strike again! "Happy Metal free and no triggered drums!" says the record company’s info sheet and it’s true. This is not the usual Gothenburg Death Metal. Instead, DERANGED come up with a CD almost completely free from any kind of melodies – just pure brutality straight in your face! I like the weird solos in particular, because sometimes almighty SLAYER shines through. Also Johan Andenberg’s departure doesn’t hurt too much because both the new vocalist as well as the new bass player did a good job in the studio. There is only one thing about the production that really makes me nervous: generally, the sound is quite powerful – but the snare drum is too loud! Especially when you play "Deranged" on a poor stereo it sometimes sounds like a very long, very fast and, consequently, very monotonous drum solo! Anyway, the record company’s serving suggestion says: "Just sit down, put it up to the loudest volume as possible and just eat your own brain." I guess you’ll have problems with sitting still if you choose "Deranged" for dinner music and you’re gonna spill that yummy meal all over the table for sure! Sorry for this picture but I guess I’m already deranged… http://members.tripod.de/deranged, http://start.at/your.death
