DETONATOR 666
Supremacy & Tyranny
(Infernus Rex)
37:24min

At a first glance and judging by the cover artwork and the band name (guess what? A nuclear explosion!) DETONATOR 666 doesn’t seem to be a band out of the pack. The usual intro (taken from a movie) starts rolling and then the hellstorm bursts out. The band features members of the old Czech Black Metal band MANIAC BUTCHER which means that you will find a seasoned group of guys here that have spitted forth an aggressive Black Metal album that is a roughly speaking a mixture of MANIAC BUTCHER and a heavy dose of early MAYHEM. The songs flow very well, at a fast pace most of the time not reaching light-like speed with the usual slow-bashing to mid-tempo and with a proper production that englighten the foul attributes of the album, without diminishing the overall impact. It is actually pleasing that vocally they have gone for the desperate-sreaming type of vocal that fits their aggressive approach just perfect without sounding as a lousy cheap copy of early BURZUM. This band is not breaking any barriers here but this album is sure to appeal to all fans of the aforementioned influences and anyone looking for an entertaining Black Metal album. According to the package description it comes with special inverted-cross shaped booklet! Contact them here: www.ir-distribution.com/infernusrex/bands.htm
