AUTUMNIA
AUTUMNIA
O'Funer Alia
(Solitude Productions)
49:37min

Even if the glorious times of the French underground label Holy Records are definitely gone (at least since 10 years) their back catalogue bears an enormous amount of Doom masterpieces. Bands like TRISTITIA or YEARNING have established their own musical cosmos and while listening to the third releases of this Ukrainian band lovely memories are rising up. AUTUMNIA had been founded in 2003 and "O'Funer Alia" is their first release for the Doom specialist Solitude Productions. The band is aiming for a very emotional Doom Metal version - so don't expect bloody razors means any kind of suicide melodies here - the music reminds me more of the coming autumn when the trees are losing their colors and everything becomes grey. Even if nearly all 5 songs easily reaching the 10 minutes barrier is their music full of various moods which are musically supported by piano and violin etc. AUTUMNIA have for sure not recorded the blackest Doom release ever but everybody who prefers a light black instead of total black should at least give this album a chance - so it's up to you to invite decay & despair into your home. http://autumnia.org, http://solitude-prod.com
