"We Have Seen The Enemy... And The Enemy Is Us" is the debut album of another young Swedish act named (yeah right, you probably guessed it already)... ENEMY IS US. The band features ex-DARKANE vocalist Lawrence Macrory (who surprisingly handles the bass here!) and even though their coverart looks a lot more like Grind- or Hardcore to me, they deliver a mixture of harsh, yet melodic Death (in the old Gothenburg way) and modern Death / Thrash ŕ la DEW-SCENTED, THE HAUNTED and the likes. DEFLESHED's Gustaf Jorde also contributes guest vocals to the track 'The Walking Dead' and the whole eleven tracker was mastered by Peter In de Betou (DIMMU BORGIR, AMON AMARTH etc.). But apart from a lot of name dropping and the band's necessary technical skills to perform material like this (which is pretty obvious in their case), I didn't find this very exciting at all. It actually bored me to death after two songs already for the simple fact that we have heard this all before so often in the past few years. Even all those among you who like this particular style a lot more than I personally do, will certainly have a big amount of records in their collection already, that offer exactly the same writing formular, so I really wonder who's going to buy this?
