FRIGHTMARE
FRIGHTMARE
Midnight Murder Mania
(Razorback Recordings)
37:58min

Excellent slashing Gore Grind / Death that blends old school influences with modern brutal Death elements offer FRIGHTMARE from the USA. Their debut full-length contains ten diversified, sick and bloodthirsty tunes that mix the groove and morbid feeling of IMPETIGO, PUNGENT STENCH and spice up the traditional influences with a couple of "oink oink" vocals one knows from LIVIDITY or SANATORIUM. Fortunately the early 90s sound dominates the CD and the contemporary moments make the whole thing just a little bit more varied and original. In terms of production "Midnight Murder Mania" is absolutely first class, too. Noah Campbell of Mammoth Studios did a very good job and created a warm, damn heavy sound I really enjoyed. Check out Gore Death highlights like 'Thorn In Their Side', 'The Prowler', 'Black Christmas' or the bonus track - a cover of THE MISFITS song 'Devilock' - and indulge yourself in blasting brutality and ripping groove. FRIGHTMARE are undoubtedly a valuable addition to the bloodpool of Gore Death. Additional information and MP3 can be found at www.razorbackrecords.com.
