Oh dear - what shall I say about this? I bet that HELL ICON don't give a shit about views of others anyway - but still keep on sending stuff to receive reactions concerning their efforts to create something unique. This is ridiculous I think. HELL ICON obviously felt inspired by acts such as ABRUPTUM, most noticeable the latter's "Vi Sonus Nigrae Malitiaes". Probably everyone reading this knows what a pain in the arse Free Jazz may turn out to be. You really need to be into this sort of genre in order to appreciate and get your head around it. I think the meaning of this comparison becomes clear, doesn't it? When you think about it - there is one essential difference, apart from conception, sound, musical ingredients etc. I know that Free Jazz musicians are educated professionals who are very much aware of the scales, rhythms and general intentions of their music. HELL ICON are most certainly not aware of the stuff they play. This sounds like a mediocre band rehearsal to me. A guitarist who tries to manage his first pickings, a drummer who is keen to hit the cymbals and toms totally arbitrarily, rejoicing that he was given his first reverb effect to play around with. The singer... well he snorts like a pig, whispers and apparently presses the keys of his synth every now and then. I think it's very likely that there are some freaks out there who feel confirmed that we are all wimps and unworthy to listen such elite elaborations of Black Metal art. Well... if this is Black Metal art with a profound utterance of man's true nature underlying the surface level of the world we perceive... then Black Metal is in a pretty deplorable state of affairs at the moment. This is - like ABRUPTUM - a total waste of time as well as a desperate effort to contribute something in the scene as well without having to say or present anything worthwhile. Ave!
