INTESTINE BAALISM
INTESTINE BAALISM
Banquet In The Darkness
(Blackend Records)
43:24min

Japanese INTESTINE BAALISM are no newcomers to the scene, they were founded in 1991 and six years later in 1997 their debut CD "An Anatomy Of The Beast" saw the light of day. After numerous band internal problems and various line-up changes the four guys have returned with their newest effort "Banquet In The Darkness", which offers 11 melodic yet dark Death Metal songs with strong Swedish influences. But that does not mean that INTESTINE BAALISM copy the boring stuff that recently came from Scandinavia, the deep, morbid vocals of Seiji Kakuzaki and the varied songwriting that unites brutal aggression and haunting melodies give INTESTINE BAALISM an individual sound, that I found quite convincing. The production is excellent as well and if you like the music of AT THE GATES, CARCASS ("Heartwork" era), UNANIMATED, DARK TRANQUILITY teamed up with darker vocals you should be pretty happy with "Banquet In The Darkness". Check out the titletrack and 'A Knight Appears From The Lake Of Blood' to get a good impression of what INTESTINE BAALISM are about. For more information surf to www.blackendrecords.com
