LEGIONS OF ASTAROTH
LEGIONS OF ASTAROTH
Rites Of Somatic Death
(Enucleation Records)
54:40min

After listening to the split with HELLGOAT and their 7'' EP I again expected a great deal from LEGIONS OF ASTAROTH as their previous output was raw fuckin' Black Metal no 2 ways about it! In existence since 2004 we finally see the release of their full length album and yeah we have some more maturity and songwriting craftsmanship on display here. The rawness is still there but the production is much clearer than the 7'' but takes nothing away from the still raw Black Metal. Although they might not like the comparison it does remind me quite a lot of old Norwegian bands but it has these parts similar to those new American Black Metal bands like Xasthur or Leviathan (they aren't new? who cares! I don't!) but much much better!! And it is a very evil and hypnotic piece of blackness that took me to dimensions and planes of darkness unforseen!!! So if you want to take that darkness trip, so be it, get this CD asap! www.myspace.com/legionsofastaroth, www.enucleationrecords.com
