RANGER
RANGER
Combat Metal
(Fanatic's Lodge)
10:50min

This Finnish Speed Metal outfit RANGER is just a fuckin' real McCoy: on rare - and I mean just on rare occasions one comes across with a band that goes so deep down into the past underground Metal scene that it makes you to check whether you have really placed a right tape into your cassette box. RANGER push pedal to the Speed Metal on their 3rd outing in order, titled "Combat Metal", kicking our fancy asses with their frenzied, aggressive and high-octane 3 Speed Metal assaults the way that we are able to see their deep blue bruise marks on our butt cheeks for weeks to come. It's bands like DESTRUCTOR, LA's SCEPTRE and IRON MAIDEN whose influences I'd underline mostly when listening to RANGER's latest cassette demo (yep, a cassette demo indeed). All of these three songs are loaded with such an amazing amount of energy, the early 80s right true enthuastic Metal vibe, feeling and attitude - and I gotta tell you it makes me grin widely every time when the tape's ending and title song 'Combat Metal' (which is an instrumental cut) comes out from the speakers: perhaps the guys should also consider putting together their own MAIDEN tribute band? Nevertheless, we have a true winner in here: RANGER rips through earth, heaven and hell. Poor humans, sweet angels and little devils... WATCH OUT!!!
