SCREAMING FOREST
SCREAMING FOREST
Assault
(More Hate Productions)
38:06min

Ukrainian extreme Metal troops SCREAMING FOREST label themselves as Nuclear Black Metal but to me they - despite their corpsepaints and stuff, sound more like a raw, old school Death Metal band that loves to play fast, want to use blast beats occasionally - and trust they are able to make some worthwhile extreme Metal that catches people's attention. Well, at least on the band's latest, 4th full-length opus titled "Assault" they do just that: winning securely people's attention to their side by darkened Death Metal that's like a cross between such bands as IMMOLATION, KRISIUN, SADISTIC INTENT and more straightforward sounding BEHEMOTH. So yeah, SCREAMING FOREST have got a pretty strong musical concept going on "Assault" indeed. The songs are overall strongly and amazingly well executed, incorporating some really good ideas, but of course on the top of everything, is these Ukrainian lads' uncompromising attitude to maintain certain type of vicious brutality through their songs - like throwing thousands of lil' diabolic Satans on our necks at one time, just to show each of us how seriously taken and mean motherf**kers they are. They truly are - and I can only raise my chalice of black blood for their ruthless and morbid attacks on this very promising record. Makes me want to check out all SCREAMING FOREST's previous 3 albums as well. More about SCREAMING FOREST can be found at: www.facebook.com/screamingforest, label: www.morehate.com
