This Catalonian band is a new acquintance for me, I don't even think I had stumbled across the name, before this new album was handed to me, so I could review it. This is the band's third full length album, and besides that they have an EP under their belt. They have all their material online at their Bandcamp site, so I have been checking up on their music, before diving into the new album, you should as well! The band delivers a groovy crossover of thrashy Hardcore with some more brutal elements mixed into it, here and there. The backbone is laid upon groovy rhythm patters with some quite good and varied drumming, melodic leads that remind of Scandinavian melodic Death Metal and some varied vocal attacks, all from growl, yelling and good old screaming. Even though it might sound like a strange mixture, it is actually blended quite well together and the songs progress quite organically, so not much seems out of place. Pace-wise we are getting all around as well, from fast to slow, though most of the music is delivered mid-paced, which is quite thought through, so there is a solid base for all the shenanigans. The production of the album is quite solid as well, clear instruments and a good intense kick in the mid-level, so the aggressiveness and anger gets through. "Double O Res" is a quite solid album that works really well do to the great groove, good vocal work, great melodic work, aggressiveness and pure intensity (and a solid dose of SEPULTURA).
