SONIC POISON
SONIC POISON
Harsh Demonstration...
(Caligari Records)
9:36min

If you're likely to think that melodies and harmonies are overrated in music, SONIC POISON from Finland are definitely a must for your shopping list. These up to now quite mysterious guys, hailing from Mikkeli and Tampere are not here to take prisoners. They are not here to please the ears of any mainstream. They are not here to reinvent anything. SONIC POISON are here to destroy, kill, pillage and burn. They are here to leave no stone standing. They are here to give you a “Harsh Demonstration...”. And that's the obviously fitting title of their first recording, out as a digital release and, even more important, on good old-fashioned tape. Caligari are responsible for that release, which means not only a professional layout and a strict limitation of 150 copies, but also musical quality and dedication. Grindcore is the style SONIC POISON dedicated themselves to, the old school, more REPULSION or early PUNGENT STENCH than INSECT WARFARE or WORMROT. Seven songs in not even ten minutes only underline this direction perfectly. So, we have distorted bass, driving to blasting drums, a guitar like a bonesaw and gutted out (not grunted out) vocals. What else do you expect from old fashioned Grind? Only dedication! And SONIC POISON deliver that with passion. To get an impression make sure to visit them at www.facebook.com/sonicgrind or http://sonicpoison13.bandcamp.com. Even better, get the tape version of this “Harsh Demonstration...” at www.caligarirecords.com or www.facebook.com/caligarirecords
