THRONEUM
THRONEUM
Decade Of Necrostuprumical Madness
(Deathgasm Records)
31:41min

I wanted to check out Polish THRONEUM for quite some time but somehow I never did... now this collection of old and partly rare recordings is the opportunity. This band is sworn to dark and thrashing maniacal Death / Black Metal exclusively, firmy rooted in the underground of the 80s / 90s. ASPHYX, TERRORIZER, POSSESSED, BLASPHEMY and the likes are among those who THRONEUM pay homage to in both sound and attitude - THRONEUM do not merely copy their influences, though. Some other acts the band honoured by playing cover versions are SARCOFAGO, ANTHRAX, TANKARD, INCANTATION, AUTOPSY and NECROVORE. I really like the raw vocal delivery and the overall evilness the band radiates with uncompromising ferocity but somehow the little spark that would set me aflame for THRONEUM and burn me to ashes is missing. The fact that the sound quality slightly varies as "Decade..." is a collection of various releases is certainly not the reason. Despite the obvious qualities of the band there are some parts and riffs which are a bit of a filler to me. Seems I have to check out THRONEUM's more recent releases, after all the material here is partly quite old. For those who are into THRONEUM but missed out their earlier releases this is mandatory I guess, those into filthy and raw Metal of Death should risk an ear. Three sound samples are available here: www.geocities.com/throneum
