VALE OF SIDDIM
VALE OF SIDDIM
Tormented By Witchcraft
(Worship Him Records)

Ok, this blew me away! This is a project of Herr Ra, mastermind and vocalist behind NECROS CHRISTOS and DROWNED. But, this is much darker and deeper than both of these bands combined. And, believe me, this burrows in the underground of the occult soul to the very possible end. Trance-inducing, hypnotic, estatic - it is everything fans of Occult Death Metal could wish for. Although the music is fairely fast, the general feeling you get from listening to it is calm and slow understanding of someone's dark side. The vocals are not rushed in any way and are totaly undechiprable - they are measured and totaly self-confident which is a big plus. Minus, for me, was that if you know NECROS CHRISTOS' opus this does not bring a lot of new things to the airwaves. For example, the guitar magic is waved by the same magic wand. But that didn't put me off and I enjoyed it immensely. A perfect EP for the Nuclear Winter and Blood Harvest labels to publish: is there a better compliment to get as a Death Metal band? Oh, but I forgot - the EP is really short, but worth of your money more than a lot of things out there. This will be an underground cult classic.
