VICIOUS ART
VICIOUS ART
Fire Falls And The Waiting Waters
(Threeman Recordings)
43:32min

VICIOUS ART was founded in 2002 by Matti Mäkelä and Robert Lundin who both used to be in DARK FUNERAL. In 2004 another big name joined the band: Jörgen Sandström (GRAVE, ENTOMBED) took over the bass from Jocke Widfeld who is now concentrating on the vocals entirely. Second guitar player is Tobbe Sillman. And their debut album is strong indeed: their style is - big surprise - (brutal) Swedish Death Metal - fast and aggressive. The band finds a good balance of technicality and "mass" compatibility - simply memorable songwriting! Another point are the vocals: aggressive and very in-your-face. According to the record company's info sheet even the lyrics are worth reading! Unfortunately they're not included on my promo copy. Honestly, I can't find anything wrong with "Fire Falls And The Waiting Waters". Instead, I'm listening to it quite a lot and it doesn't get boring at all! Funny footnote: a passage in the song 'Cut This Heathen' strongly reminds me of US Metal veterans VIRGIN STEELE - but who cares? Great stuff! www.viciousart.se
