BURIED GOD
Dark Revelation
(Merciless Records)
37:31min

Thuringian Death / Thrashers BURIED GOD’s debut assault is a valuable release for anyone who likes it the raw and aggressive old school way and digs bands like DESASTER, SITHLORD or old DECEASED. Unfortunately there are quite a lot of bands around who give a fuck about trends and draw inspiration from past time legends like KREATOR, SLAYER or DEMOLITION HAMMER and mix it with some Death Metal influences, so I guess that BURIED GOD have to face some serious and sometimes undoubtedly superior concurrence. But that does not change the fact that BURIED GOD are a really good German band and manage to capture true thrashing power and energy on "Dark Revelation". The sound has got the right old school rawness, the song material is driving and fast and the vocals vary enough to keep the album interesting over the whole 37:31min (not to forget the really cool GRIFFIN cover ‘Hunger’ from the band’s highly underrated 1986 album "Protectors Of The Lair"! – Frank). Thrash maniacs should watch out for this nice piece of Metal and posers in search for originality should stay with their SOILWORK CD’s, this was not made for you.
