GLITTERTIND
Landkjenning
(Napalm Records)
36:31min

Sometimes a journey can take a little bit longer than expected especially if your long-boat grounded during the first trip to foreign shores. The Norwegian Folk Metal band GLITTERTIND is one of the last survivors of the Hammerheart Records / Karmageddon Media crash and it took them more than a while to lick their wounds. But the last 6 years hadn’t been wasted because their third release “Landkjenning” (Landsighting) is without any exaggeration the perfect fusion of Folk and Metal. There are strong bounds / parallels to bands like VINTERSORG or BORKNAGAR – especially their last releases starting with their 2000 “Quintessence” album – but GLITTERTIND are different. The band is not restricted to any limits and you can find very traditional Folk songs for example the title track next to more open minded music which is sometimes crossing the “evil” line between Metal and Rock. But their music is unique and refreshing and the only problem is the reduced playtime of only 36 minutes – this is real Folk Metal based on the traditional understanding of the deeply missed last decade and a real highlight of the last months. www.napalmrecords.com, www.glittertind.net
