OUTLAW
Reaching Beyond Assiah

This is the third album of this Brazilian band, that was formed back in 2015. As of today OUTLAW also consists of a drummer from Finland. Their style is of a symphonic Death / Black Metal band that is not far away from Swedish heroes DAWN, SACRAMENTUM of NECROPHOBIC. And to be honest they do it extremely well, I especially like the vocal delivery, which is sinister and brutal at the same time. The band is comfortable playing fast or slow, and the subtle use of keyboards here and there gives them an atmospheric touch that almost reaches symphonic heights. There is always a fast melodic riff going on and with a very competent rhythm section backing it up. Sometimes this gives me that icy and chilling feeling that “Slaughtersun” has, and that only can be a good thing. The Black Metal side of things is balanced, giving a melodic grim edge to the Death Metal base in their sound. The name of the band might not be very attractive, but believe me that the music is much more than that. The arrangements are done with class and taste, and in their chaos there is always a wicked sense of beauty that will soon drop blood everywhere. A very nice surprise of a great album, filled with riffs that recalls ancient heroes with honour. www.facebook.com/outlawblackmetal, www.facebook.com/aoprecs
