Smash your icons, turn your crosses upside down and burn your beloved, local churches… Namely these infernal n’ hungry Aussie wolfs of Satan, are amongst us – after for your weak flesh… naturally. THE FUROR is the name of this destructive warmachine which obvious goal is to spread chaos and annihilation to everywhere, at least through their music. “Advance Australia Warfare” is the these blackish horde’s 2nd album and it’s loaded with so much fury, wickedness and pure aggression that it’s almost criminal to have that so much of those elements for just one album. THE FUROR have clearly understood what it takes to make an impressive sounding album, which throws you back on your living room’s wall right after the first cords come out from the speakers. The band members trust the formula that such hellish hordes as MARDUK, DESTRÖYER 666, FALLEN CHRIST (R.I.P.) and the likes, have determinedly and succesfully followed during their own careers – and not looking back since then when heading towards the final destination of each of their manifetations: to support Armageddon the best they could from the deepest depths of their rottem, blackened souls. I mean, “Advance Australia Warfare” is undoubtedly one of the most hysteric yet most interesting albums out from the whole Black / Death Metal genre I have had a pleasure to listen and enjoy lately. The band sounds like they have had a very clear vision since the day one of how they want THE FUROR exactly to sound like in order to support the band’s mean image – which on the other hand looks like the gates of Hell have finally been opened, and first three fully armored disturbed beasts – in the form of THE FUROR hordes – have come on earth to slay and grind to dust all Christians. THE FUROR’s real, savage fire power can be found from their extraordinary good sense for some really ass-kicking song structures that have carefully been thought out and built, to be meant to crush a listener’s skull as the first and final goal. There’s so much pure enjoyment in the band’s sound (I reckon you like this more extreme side of Black / Death Metal?) that it’s a kind of pity that they have stayed under unfair shadows for so long. Even if there’s more than 1 hour music on “Advance Australia Warfare”, this disc never gets boring, or uninteresting. Therefore I feel like I need to raise my sincere horns up toward THE FUROR’s direction for this particular mind ‘n body-activating achievement in question. Very well-done, guys! www.thefuror.com, www.primecuts.com.au
