THE GREAT DECEIVER

With this album everything kind of seems clear to me. I am not willing to indulge in talking for ages about all this here. It’s not really worth it because this output is brilliant – and this statement says it all! Sometimes I sort of have the feeling that THE GREAT DECEIVER were inspired by Nu-Metal / Hardcore acts such as KORN, STRAPPING YOPUNG LAD… and there are worse things, haha… the production sounds powerful (recorded at Dug Out Studios – Meshuggah, In Flames, Strapping Young Lad…) and very modern. The tracks sound equally modern and up-to-date. The guitars are deep, wide and crunchy. The bass pumps from below. The vocals, done by Mr. Tomas Lindberg in person, sound hypnotic at times, aggressive, crazy – the whole lot. The drums have a great groove and make sure that you move and cannot sit still. Everything sounds modern and inspiring on this record. There are tracks with interesting samples, some sitars even, keys every once in a while. Good stuff! (hmm… with all respect to Tompa, but judging this album just by your description, I would say it totally sucks! – Frank)
