Little is known about TOTENWELT other than they’re from Sweden and have a cassette release of two Black Metal tracks. There’s not even a listing on Metal Archives that I could find. Judging a band off of only two songs isn’t a fair thing to do. However, as I am dedicated to review "Tot", I must review simply on the limited knowledge I have. And that knowledge is pretty simple to figure out. The two tracks that make up this EP are consistent with each other. ‘Kräla För Satan’ opens with a throbbing blur of guitar mixed with a steady rhythm of drums and vocals sounding like an anguished soul ready to tear you limb from limb. The song itself is hypnotic in its glory, leaving me unaware of my surroundings as I type this. An almost industrial rhythm blends in midway through the song until the vocals signal the majestic return of what I’m now really digging. Track two, ‘Känner Du Kylan’, confirms the type of sound this band has, distinguishing it from other Black Metal bands that tend to sound alike. More majesty, more power and more aggression through vocals, guitar and drums. Maybe TOTENWELT have shown this delirious soul that a band can prove themselves in only two tracks. I look forward to more from this band. For more information, check out www.facebook.com/totenwelt, http://totenwelt.bandcamp.com
