After a already promising album in 2004 called “Untergang”, the German (Black) Metal outfit VERDUNKELN come up with their second full-length album “Einblick In Den Qualenfall”. To clear some line-up questions first, VERDUNKELN consists of GRAUPEL’s guitarist Gnarl and its drummer Ratatyske, but except for the music’s quality it is really different to GRAUPEL as especially on this actual album, VERDUNKELN’s focus lies on the slow, epic side of Metal. And yezzz, the two maniacs do this remarkably well, they proof that music has to be simple to reach one’s heart and it does. Simple riffing, simple pounding drumming, simply great, atmospheric leads and accoustic guitars, clear as well as Black Metallish vocals; all this without any boring minute. What else do you want?
