VOORHEES
Chapter Two

This French “Friday The 13th” worshipping Death Metal band is ready with their first full length album, following their quite good debut EP “Chapter One” from 2017. This is tales about the demented and the fear and death they spread, here personified by Jason Voorhees from the beautiful “Friday The 13th” movies, from back in the day. We are getting slapped by vintage Death Metal from the heydays of the Death Metal, especially with focus on the scenes from Europe, Florida and a grat deal of Buffalo, New York. The riffing is great and quite catching, great pummeling rhythm patterns and the atmospheres the band build, lead my thoughts towards horror flicks. The growl is great and classic, not so much fuzz, deep and rumbling with some great screams here and there, Kam Lee and Chris Barnes are still haunting out there. The production of the album is quite ok as well, bordering a tad too clean and nice for the grim Death Metal, though it is letting the different elements of the music quite well and energetic through the sound picture. The guitar riffing is gnarly, though the leads are crystal clear and headsplitting, the drums are coming through intensely and the vocals are tying it all together quite well. Overall a quite good kicking nostalgic and intense sounding Death Metal album. Enter the eve of the apocalypse: www.facebook.com/voorhees.deathmetal, www.facebook.com/greatdanerecords
