Brazilian Black Metal trio VULTURINE have an extensive discography and since 2002 released a whole range of demos, EPs, two full-length albums and now this – their third opus called "Tentáculos Da Aberração" on Portugal’s great Caverna Abismal Records. And once again they unearthed the blackest diamond of truly immersing, raw as it was in 80s, but with beefed up, solid and thick sound. I hate most of what passes as Black Metal these days, it has become a parody of itself mainly. But when digging a little deeper and searching through obscure printed zines and little labels who release tapes and CDs out of pure respect and love for the art, then you can find releases like "Tentáculos Da Aberração". There are 5 songs, lasting from 6 to 9 minutes and one short 1 minute Satanic Metal drunken hymn called ‘Highest Power’! These guys live for their Metal and if you worship the bands like MASTER’S HAMMER, ROOT, (old) MOONSPELL, VARATHRON and SARCOFAGO then you can stop reading right fucking now and go get the VULTURINE tape, because it is on the same level of mastership which conjures truly the blackest vibes! The tracks are long, weaving the listener into the obscure, sulphur filled pits of mystical, tortured music. The last song – ‘Tentáculos Da Aberração’ lasting for 9:26 minutes showcases truly ingenious musicianship and takes on a trip that you wouldn’t want to end, it’s like being lost in a dark matter.
