Holy shit! More Heavy Metal for my ears. And a new band. This time from Norway. These new demons called CHASING DEMONS are here with their debut album “Echoes From The Past”, after having been releasing singles from May until September, when they finally launched the album. “Echoes From The Past” is what it had to be: a new flag raised high in the vast battlefield of Heavy Metal. With music that gets straight to the point, is effective and inherits the old customs of the genre that gave life to this and for which we are all here. CHASING DEMONS makes exquisite music. I say it simply to keep it uncomplicated. Music that speaks our same language and makes us feel like we are in the good old days. At this point, it’s impossible not to fall into certain evocations when listening to an emerging Metal band, whatever style they play. So “Echoes From The Past” is no exception; it’s an album that will surely transport us to passages of past Heavy Metal glories. But that does not mean (absolutely not) that CHASING DEMONS hasn’t come with its own proposal in hand. I really like that Hard Rock vibe that unmistakably accompanies the development of the album. It’s always present. I liked that a lot! In essence, the album is, in effect, an echo from the past in which these musicians are (most likely) putting the entire legacy of the bands we grew up with at the service of CHASING DEMONS.
