US Death Metal quintet METAPHOBIC is finally back with their massive debut album “Deranged Excruciations”, crafting the perfect mix between old school flavors with plenty of riffs and catchy sections and much more modern dissonances. METAPHOBIC is a five piece Death Metal group from Atlanta, GA. The band recorded their first demo in 2021 at Second Sight Studios and is now here to unleash their first full length album “Deranged Excruciations”. Remember the old school Death Metal revival timeline? We suddenly had old school Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal revival and within a span of six months everyone sounded the same and we all lost interest? Yeah, METAPHOBIC is not like any of those bands, this is killer Death Metal with a backbone of the ’90s Death Metal. Very mature songwriting that is both smooth and fluid at the same time. Case in point, track #2, ‘Mental Deconstruction’, which opens with such a gentle solo as it launches itself like a projectile into the early ’90s sound. Engaging vocals, brilliant guitars and just the adequate drum notes make their sound twice as better than usual. Their Bandcamp says this is for fans of MONSTROSITY, DEMILICH, FACELESS BURIAL and early GORGUTS. This is one of the most accurate lists of bands listed under an album and I hope you do pay heed to it. You will hear guitar solos from the 4th dimension that tear the sky and simply jump back into the hubbub of madness.
