From the underground corners of Edmonton, Alberta in Canada, NECRODEIFIC SLAUGHTER bursts onto the Death Metal map with their debut EP “Ripping Flesh”. This is like a hammer hitting up your head. The kind of EP that shows up uninvited, kicking the doors and initiating the chaos out there. The duo behind this monster, Thomas on drums and Adrien Magrudja on guitars, bass and vocals, wastes absolutely no time in presenting what can only be described as pure and unholy filth. It shows decay, desperation, darkness, malevolence, coming from the sound of the old school Death Metal that made the early ‘90s so glorious while still building up their oppression over a very cavernous, malicious echo between tons of gloomy vibes. NECRODEIFIC SLAUGHTER arose to say what Death Metal should sound like. This EP is like decomposing body parts rotting beneath your basement and your neighbors smell the putrefaction but don’t know where it comes from. That’s the vibe NECRODEIFIC SLAUGHTER shows and they represent it faithfully. There’s a huge sense of morbid spirit here, somewhere underneath the gore, like a band that knows very well that this is all absurd and disgusting, but they still count every second of oppression. Because, if I had to describe this EP in one single word, that would be my chosen word, “oppression”. That’s what this EP is here for, to oppress you, to cause you asphyxiation and torment. “Ripping Flesh” rips, tears, stomps and vanishes into the sewer it came from, leaving a cloud of smoke and the smell of something dead behind. It’s a strong, confident opening strike from a band that clearly understands what this genre is supposed to feel like: heavy, nasty and gloomy as hell. So, you better keep an eye on NECRODEIFIC SLAUGHTER. If this is just the beginning, then the next wave of this Canadian Death Metal act might take you into dopesickness and zombification. Killer EP!
