Danish act VICTIMIZER used to operate below my radar so far, but their new 5-track EP "Resurrected Abominations" makes me actually wonder: why? Blending traditional Thrash / Speed Metal elements with raw vokills that rather fit a Death or Black / Thrash band plus high-quality songwriting mounts in ass-kicking yell-a-long hymns that are consumed ideally parallel to a couple of beers and are just plain fun to listen to. From the driving opening track ‘Worthy Of Hell’ over the relentless ‘Reap The Nuclear Whirlwind’ (did I ever mention I have a soft spot for everything featuring the word "nuclear", hehe) to the stomping mid tempo crunch of the title-track, the flawlessly executed cover of Hobbs’ Angel Of Death’s ‘Lucifers Domain’ to the closing ‘E-37101’ – not a single weak song, not one without an effective hook, not one that is not characterised by powerful trashing riffs and sheer sonic violence. Topped off by a nice organic and authentic sound, this is perfect stuff for all Thrashaholics out there and makes me regret my ignorance towards VICTIMIZER for sure! Looking forward to hear more from you, dudes! www.myspace.com/666victimizer, www.hellsheadbangers.com
