Sweden’s Death Metal stalwarts GLUTTONY, with the support of F.D.A. Records, have released their fourth full length album titled “Eulogy To Blasphemy”. Anders Härén and company are celebrating 15 years of cranking out some old school Swedish Death Metal since 2009 and what better way than to give their fans 12 tracks of full headbanging love. It has been four years since their previous album “Drogulus” was released and in this genre that’s practically an eternity, so let’s see what this new album and band brings to the table. Right from the bat you can tell the band has not deviated from the formula that works. The first track is an intro that really serenades the listener into a sense of vulnerability with its piano beginning and quickly jumps into ‘All These Trees Are Gallows’ with its fast crunchy guitars, relentless drums, guttural vocals straight out of the tomb. ‘Hung From Entrails’ reminds me of mid ’90s era GRAVE with its mid-tempo speed and a bit of Death’n’Roll style that made SIX FEET UNDER a household name. The chaos continues with the album’s title track ‘Eulogy To Blasphemy’ with its bulldozing speed for almost five minutes, making this the longest song of the record. ‘Awoken In Autopsy’ brings that DISMEMBER / ENTOMBED vibe big time and I love it. Just pure brutality at its finest, the guitar hooks are catchy and razor-sharp picking that grab you like a tractor beam. I think my favorite song on this album has to be ‘Corpses Eating Corpses’, its venomous and strikes fast while keeping the ambience. This was a really fun album to listen to and review. Each of the 12 tracks brought the extreme music that you can only expect from these guys. No wasted motion as each track brought its own seasoning and not just filler. Really solid production with clear musical integrity as well as some tried and true songwriting. The killer KING DIAMOND cover of ‘Burn’ did the song justice. Shout out to F.D.A. Records for continuing to crank out some really good Metal! If you are a fan of ENTOMBED, GRAVE and DISMEMBER then you will love this album. Even if you are new to Death Metal, this is a solid choice to pick up and get your ears to bleed! Check it out! www.facebook.com/gluttonyswe, www.facebook.com/fdarec
