Floridas MONSTROSITY will head to Colombia for the third time, in mid August. The band plans to perform material covering all points of their nearly 20 year career. Ranging from the earliest "Imperial Doom" days when George Corpsegrinder was fronting the act all the way through to the current "Spiritual Apocalypse" disc which is available now on Conquest Music Inc. Oldcchool Bay Area Thrashers POTENTIAL THREAT SF have signed with Old School Metal Records. The first record is scheduled to be released in the August / September time frame. "We are very excited to welcome POTENTIAL THREAT SF to our family. They have that old school crossover vibe, that we love", says Patrick Ramseier CEO of OSM Records.
Metal Mind Productions will be re-releasing the two THE ABYSS albums "The Other Side" and "Summon The Beast" as limited edition (1000 copies) digipak editions, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden discs on July 6, 2009 (in Europe) / August 11, 2009 (via MVD in the US).
The legendary Chilean Death / Thrash Metal band PENTAGRAM will reunite one last time in 2009 for a Chilean tour and several shows in Europe (for the exact dates, check out our tourdates section). The line-up will consist of the three original members Anton Reisenegger (guitar / vocals, also in CRIMINAL), Juan Pablo Uribe (guitar) and Eduardo Topelberg (drums). Replacing original bassist Alfredo Peña, who committed suicide in 1990, will be Juan Francisco Cueto (ex-CRIMINAL) for the Chilean dates and Daniel Biggin (CRIMINAL) for the European trek. Scottish BONESAW wil take off soon with a couple of new releases. Their debut LP "Sawtopsy" will be released through Apehlion Productions in August 2009. A split MCD and 10" vinyl with BONE GNAWER should be out in October 2009 and another split, this time a 7"EP, with LOBOTOMIZED from Norway should be out on At War With False Noise Records end of 2009. Still to be confirmed is the release date of the reissue of BONESAW’s debut demo "Smack Zombie" on Largactyl Records. Metal Mind Productions will be re-releasing SINISTER‘s "Cross The Styx" (+ 3 bonus tracks), "Diabolical Summoning" (+ 2 bonus tracks), "Hate" and the "Bastard Saints" EP (the latter two will be released on one CD, including 4 bonus tracks). All of the bonus tracks were recorded live at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, on August 24, 2006. The CDs will all be available in a new digipak edition, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on a golden disc. Each title is limited to 1000 copies. The American / Swedish collaboration BONE GNAWER, which features Kam Lee (Massacre / ex-Denial Fiend), Rogga Johansson (Paganizer), Ronnie Bjornstorm (Ribspreader, Hate Ammo) and Morgan Lie (Naglfar) will release their debut album "Feast Of Flesh" through Pulverised Records in early June 2009. EXUMER have posted a tour-picture diary on their homepage and myspace sites, documenting their recent "5 Nights Of Fire" tour which took through 4 countries on 2 continents in April / May 2009. The band also revealed plans on how and when they will release their first new song in 22 years to the public. Lead vocalist Mem V. Stein comments on the band’s plans: "We felt very fortunate to have been able to perform at this year’s KIT 12 and it was a fantastic opportunity for the band to present ourselves in such a forum. The energy level from the fans was tremendous that day and luckily we filmed the show with our own 3 cameras. Norwegian Viking Metal pioneers THUNDRA, featuring founding members of ENSLAVED and EINHERJER, have announced "Ignored By Fear" as the title for their new album. The fourth album by Vikinger Metallers THUDVANGAR will be produced by the end of May. It will contain 13 tracks with more than 60 minutes of music. A limited digipak version including a DVD, which will feature a video clip, an interview and live recordings from this year’s Barther Metal Open Air 2009, will also be made available. GOREAPHOBIA have announced plans to film their set at the "May Metal Massacre" which will take place on Saturday, May 16th at The Sterling Hotel in Allentown, PA. The footage will be used for a DVD release which will span the history of the band. Guitarist Alex Bouks added these comments: "We are recording footage for a DVD at The Sterling Hotel in Allentown, PA.The DVD will include songs from our new record "Mortal Repulsion" as well as the old classics. Neurotic Records have signed Dutch based blackened Death / Thrash FLESH MADE SIN. The band already released a full-length album through Karmageddon Media entitled "Dawn Of The Stillborn" back in 2004. The new album "The Aftermath Of Amen", which was mastered by Jacob Hansen, will be released through Neurotic Records at the end of June. VOIVOD and DEATH DEALER will reunite for only one night for an historical event in Jonquière, Canada on July 4, 2009. After 25 years of distilling the spirit and the sound of the Jonquière Heavy Metal style throughout the world, the two bands will make this event a ‘return from the past’ with this symbolic and historic show. "This will be a fantastic reunion show with friends that night and the complete realisation of a show we expected to do in 1983 but never done…" said André Larouche, the lead vocalist and founder of DEATH DEALER. His band will officially open the evening at 19:30 playing ’till 21:00 and will then give the scene to VOIVOD closing the show at 23:00. Konqueror Records has signed Italy’s old school Death Metallers ERODED. The band is said to be inspired by NIHILIST, AUTOPSY, CARNAGE and the DEMIGOD debut full-length.
