NYC Thrashers SUN DESCENDS will enter Big Blue Meenie Studios (Sepultura, Overkill, SOD etc.) in New Jersey this week (06/22/07), to record their follow-up album to 2006’s "Incinerating The Meek". The up-coming CD titled "The Entropy Formula", features 10 brand new cuts and will be produced by "His Eminence the Wicked" of Terror of the Trees. The band will finally return to playing live after a one-year long absence from the stage in late July / early August 2007. Mem V.Stein: "The album will speak for itself but the wait was worth while. The energy around and leading up to the recording has been extremely intense and positive. Everyone involved is "on edge", in a productive way. It’s been almost one year since SUN DESCENDS’ last stage performance. The entire band can’t wait to play the new songs live and also introduce our new bassist."
Guitarist Tuomio has decided to leave IMPALED NAZARENE. Here’s the official statement from the band regarding this subject: "His decision is personal and we thank him for everything he did with us the last four years and wish him the best of luck for his future adventures. Tomi UG Ullgren is our new lead guitarist, many of you have already witnessed him with us on stage as he has been a session member of this band since 2000, done various tours with us etc. This change will not affect any of our forth-coming shows. We have now finished recording vocals of our new album "Manifest". Sounds fucking killer. "Manifest" will be mixed at Sonic Pump studio by Tapio Pennanen at late July and mastered at Finnvox studio by Mika Jussila mid August. We also decided with Osmose that "Manifest" will be put out as double 10" vinyl instead of normal 12". We will now start working on cover and lay-out with our house artist Ritual."
FUNERAL PROCESSION have just published the following statement: "It has come to the band’s knowledge that bootleg copies of the very first demo are spread via ebay and different mailorders. The releases are claimed to be originals, but they are certainly not. An easy way to check your copy against those bootlegs is to make sure that the numbers inside the tape are written with red ink (which all originals were as far as the band knows – the bootlegs have them in blue) and that both cover plus bandpicture are distinguishable (due to the bootleg being a xerox of a xerox one cannot recognize anything). The tape was released more than eight years ago and limited to 300, so it is of course very unlikely that a whole pile of new and mint tapes suddenly appears out of nowhere. Although the band is trying to find out the source of the bootlegs, most hints until now led to a dead end. Thus the only advice for the time being is to be very careful."

Statement about GOSPEL OF THE HORNS: "Since the unfortunate situation earlier in 2007 where news was broken on Blabbermouth that Gospel of the Horns had split up and therefore wouldn’t be touring again, we’ve had a hard task convincing people Gospel of the Horns are in fact still 100% active as a band. They are currently preparing to tour Australia with Sodom. Gospel of the Horns are NOT split up and are available for interview as normal. They are also planning, in association with Invictus Productions & Metal Kommand touring, a European tour. No dates have been confirmed yet and it is very much in the early stages of organising but Gospel of the Horns will tour Europe again." – Darragh / Invictus Productions
IMPALED NAZARENE have finished recording all instruments for their 10th studio album "Manifest". The band has entered Sonic Pump studio with producer / engineer Tapio Pennanen on May 10th. In a recently published press statement they said that they do not use triggers on the album this time and that it will have a "much warmer live sound." They have a little recording break now and will continue with the vocals in June. "Manifest" will be mixed at Sonic Pump at the end of July and mastered in August. Here is the full tracklisting (not the final running order): ‘Intro: Greater Wrath’, ‘The Antichrist Files’, ‘Pandemia’, ‘Mushroom Truth’, ‘Die Insane’, ‘Blueprint For Your Culture’s Apocalypse’, ‘Funeral For Despicable Pigs’, ‘Goat Justice’, ‘Dead Return’, ‘Suicide Song’, ‘Pathogen’, ‘The Calling’, ‘Planet Nazarene’, ‘You Don’t Rock Hard’, ‘When Violence Commands The Day’ and ‘Original Pig Rig’. According to the band the album lyrically deals with "all possible bullshit we have faced during the last couple of years." Ritual, who has already worked with IMPALED NAZARENE previously on many occasions, will handle all artwork and layout for the album. The release date is scheduled for end of October on Osmose Productions (CD and vinyl).

The basic concept behind SJODOGG is to create dark music with an emphasis on atmosphere and groove, rather than focusing on sheer technical brutality. The music of SJODOGG is minimalistic in some aspects, yet innovative and compelling.
Drummer / vocalist Proscriptor from the mythological occult Metal outfit ABSU has issued the following statement: "After 5 years of silence, I am pleased to announce the new line-up of ABSU. It was a difficult task to replace both Shaftiel and Equitant after being together for nearly 11 years, but now is the time to carry on. Here is the new reorganization of the band: Proscriptor McGovern (percussives, mellotron, voices & lyrical magick), Vastator Terrarum (guitars, bass guitar, analog synthesizers & backing voices) and Aethyris MacKay (guitars, bass guitar, analog synthesizers & backing voices). We have begun composing and arranging the material for what will be known as the self-titled album, simply called "Absu". In 2002, 4 out of 16 tracks were written; 2 of them we’re keeping while the other 2 we’re abandoning. We will begin recording in the latter part of autumn 2007 or early 2008 anticipating a release before June 2008 for Osmose Productions / The End Records. "Absu" projected track listing (in no particular order): ‘Night Fire Canonization’, ‘Girra’s Temple’, ‘Amy’, ‘In The Name Of Auebothiabathabaithobeuee’, ’13 Globes’, ‘Voor’, ‘Twix Yesterday, The Day & The Morrow’, ‘Between The Absu Of Eridu & Erech’, ‘Those Of The Void Will Re-Enter’, ‘Magick Square Cipher’, ‘Sceptre Command’, ‘Nunbarshegunu’, ‘Diversified Signs Inscribed’, ‘Our Earth Of Black’, ‘Ye Uttuku Spells’ and ‘…Of The Dead Who Never Rest In Their Tombs Is The Attendance Of Familiar Spirits…’. Lyrically, I am concentrating more on Sumerian-based occult themes of magick and mythology versus the Celtic aspect of my previous writings, which was heavily expressed on the last few ABSU studio albums. Musically speaking, the material will be quite similar to "Tara," but with more of a 70s progressive / psychedelic texture within it. You will not be disappointed – trust me. I will be utilizing the first logo created by Equitant and Belgian artist Kris Verwimp will handle the cover illustration once again." In other news, Osmose Productions / The End Records will re-release a remastered digipak version of the last studio album, "Tara," including the EP "In The Eyes Of Ioldánach" as bonus tracks, which will be released in September.
