On August 15, 2020 Nuclear War Now! Productions will release a collection of rare live recordings from Norway’s 666, entitled “666”, on CD and vinyl LP formats. 666 (pronounced “sax-sax-sax”) was formed in the northern city of Tromsø in early 1982 and consisted of Alf “Alfen” Krogseth (guitar), Knut Nilsen (drums), Knut Seppelæ (guitar) and Bjørn Olav “Bønna” Helberg (bass). Towards the end of 1982, Tom Arne Hermansen joined them as their vocalist, and in 1983 Helberg was replaced on bass by Erik Smith-Meyer. Their main incluences were VENOM, MOTÖRHEAD and THE STOOGES. 666 never recorded any studio material, but released three live CDs on No Noise Reduction (the label of band manager Dag Erik Salsten) between 1998 and 2003. These were pressed in very limited quantities of around 100 units each, so they never attracted the attention that the band deserved. The upcoming Nuclear War Now! Productions release will feature the following tracks: ‘666’, ‘Yorkshire’, ‘Lucifer’, ‘Nokka Å Si’, ‘Ledera’, ‘Smerten’ (Sommerlyst Tromsö, Norway – September 18, 1982), ‘Alkohol’, ‘Ledera’ (Draugen Festival, Norway – June 26, 1982) and ‘666’, ‘Love And Kiss’, ‘Smerten’, ‘Alkohol’ (Mortensnes Tromsö, Norway – December 1982).
