Six years removed from their debut album and German Black Metal Thrashers EURYNOMOS have returned, but not with a full-length follow-up album. No not yet, but “Rebel Storm” is an EP that does provide some new studio and live material to keep fanatics satiated until the band properly cranks out a sophomore album. The EP consists of four studio tracks (two of which are short instrumentals) and eight live tracks recorded live at Hellbangers Metal Battle in Winningen, Germany on November 09, 2025 encompassing earlier material. This is by no means a short EP, it cranks out a healthy almost 44 minutes of music under the Iron Pegasus Records label (the EP was originally released in July on picture disc and shaped picture disc, but without the live tracks – Frank). Let’s dive into this new material. The intro track was decent, but things really pick up with the EP’s title track ‘Rebel Storm’. A solid 5+ minute anthem showcasing its ferocity with wild guitar solos, blistering drums and a catchy hook. This is the band running on all cylinders and they continue to do so on the song ‘Stolen History’. Out of the two songs I leave towards favoring ‘Stolen History’ a bit more, the music grasped me a bit more. Let’s talk about the bulk of this release, the live tracks. Classic tracks like, ‘Heraklion Axes’, ‘Coal, Sulphur And Saltpeter’, ‘Eurynomos’ and ‘Witchryder’ are on the setlist here. I can’t complain about these live tracks as they sound great. Guitars, vocals, drums and bass (well the bass was not as pronounced as the other instruments, but still was noticeable). Very little crowd noise can be heard on the live tracks and that to me is a good thing as crowd noise tends to drown out the songs. In summary, EURYNOMOS have not skipped a beat with this EP. The songwriting, production, vocals, guitar solos / hooks were all on point on the studio tracks. The two instrumental tracks were a nice to have considering the two studio tracks, while solid tracks, only left the listener to desire more new material. The live tracks were a nice addition to beef up the EP and also brings to light some of its older material to a younger audience considering the 6+ year gap between studio efforts. All in all I think the band is showing their new material has the same recipe of success and imprints expectations for the sophomore album. I honestly am looking forward to the next full length and do recommend folks check out this EP. For more info: www.facebook.com/eurynomosofficial, www.facebook.com/ironpegasusrecords
