The Italian invasion has just began… could be an good slogan for the Italian underground reawakening after several years of silence and following more traditional Black Metal releases from bands like HOMSELVAREG and MELENCOLIA ESTATICA it’s good that there are also bands like ADVERSAM which are more into the Symphonic Black Metal section. The band had their second album (their first record “Animadverte” has been published via Scarlet Records in 1999 and is still a recognisable debut) on file since 2006 and with the new Austrian label Bloodred Horizon Records they finally found a label which realised the potential in this horde from Italy. Due to the fact that their debut is part of my private collection I was really looking forward to this releases. Time has changed and after 8 years of obvious silence the band has returned with 9 well produced tracks of highspeed Symphonic Black Metal and “Proclama” can be described as a wild hybrid of DARK FUNERAL meets TARTAROS. But I really think that sometimes a reduced aggression level would be much more suitable for the music itself due to the fact that after 5-6 songs a moment has been achieved where the songs starting to sound very similar because the album is lacking of any musical point of rest. ADVERSAM has released an aggressive album which could be interesting for fans from MARDUK up to EMPEROR but they should give their music more “room to breath” otherwise the LIMBONIC ART syndrome has found another victim. www.bloodred-horizon-records.com, www.adversam.com
