Costa Rican technical Death Metal heads CATARSIS INCARNE, have just released their debut album called “Katharma”, a self released work that shows one of the biggest surprises ever emerged from such exotic lands. Packed with a killer cover artwork and superb design… everything professionally done, “Katharma” opens from the very first second setting clear expectations on what is the whole thing about, heavy weight, clear, brutal and most of all technical Death Metal. The sound of guitars is simply devastating, with arrangements that add a twisted feeling to the music… intricate, capricious… call it as you want, the truth is that is simply amazing and reminds me a heavier version of MALEVOLENT CREATION on the “Retribution” album… which by the way is a classic. Then we have the drumming architecture… then again… a simply exquisite performance from this guy Nacho that stands up delivering a merciless attack of tight and brutalizing double blast combined with incredible tempo changes that along with the above mentioned guitar arrangements, put this band a step ahead of their country mates. The voices are pretty much into the classic old school Death Metal approach, which I think is cool to give that retrospective feeling that puts them aside of those million of bands of brutal melodic Metalcore that infest the scene world widely. Not to forge the bass contribution whose crystal sound texture makes you feel like a hammer is behind smashing your head. On top of everything I need to say that the sound is simply brilliant, absolutely according to what the band plays and very appropriate to hear all the small arrangements and things these amazing guys incorporate in their music. This is a great album that I am sure will exceed your expectations in terms of design, production and performance, if after all this you don’t get it… you miss it… don’t say nobody told you about this one. www.catarsisincarne.com, www.facebook.com/CatarsisIncarne
