Phew! What a hateful piece of noise! CRYFEMAL from Spain play quite some bizarre Black Metal. This duo works with a drum computer that surprisingly doesn’t get on my nerves. Some of the songs are arranged rather conservative the way most of us know Black Metal. ‘Malicia Immortal’, for example, but they also create unusual tracks like ‘Vision de la destruccion’ which is somehow more sort of a sound collage than a real song. Then sometimes synthesizers are used, but not for bombastic string attacks and sissy things like that. A song like ‘Concilio con los fallecidos’ seems to be mere noise until you get into it a little. Noticed something? Yeah, they’re singing in Spanish. I think more bands should use their mother tongue, especially in case their English is lousy. Moreover, it enriches our little Metal universe, don’t you think so? Maybe CRYFEMAL are the missing link between traditional Black Metal and bands like ABORYM. I had quite a hard time getting into their sound and couldn’t listen to their visions all the time, so it’s pretty much Black Metal for freaks. In case you consider yourself to be one: contact the band or the label. "With The Help Of The Devil" offers a solid production and a rather spartan booklet. By the way: Trinity Records are looking for distributors! www.cryfemal.cjb.net, www.trinityrecords.com.hk
