Death Metal from Finland. DEEPRED were founded in 1999 to "bring back the brutality forgotten since the early 90s in the Finnish Metal scene". And yes, they’re fairly brutal and straight forward. Luckily they manage not to become boring (I can get bored easily if the music is too simple). Usually, sick solos are helpful and there are a few on here indeed. On the other hand, DEEPRED try to make me lose my patience with noisy guitar attacks I already hated when Nu Thrash Metal came up in the 90s. But as they don’t overexaggerate it, I’ll forgive them if they promise to keep it away from the next album… Their upcoming appearance on a SUFFOCATION tribute tells a lot about their influences and there will be two split 7" out soon: one with DYING FETUS and one with SLUGATHOR. So watch out for that. Good band, good album, some will love it, millions will hate it. Simple as that. http://deepred.cjb.net
