DEMON REALM
A Legend Of Power
(Blazing Productions)
45:45min

Danish DEMON REALM spread their hateful Black Metal since 1997, released various demos, EP’s, appeared on several comps and finally unleash their full-length debut on CD. Black Metal “extremists” should instantly enjoy this violent, hysterical and possessed effort that suffers only from one serious draw back – a rather monotonous screeching vocalist. Sharund certainly has gallons of bile in his lungs and spats them aggressively at everything in his sight, but despite his audible authenticity and honest performance, after three songs he started getting on my nerves. Might be just another case of “matter of taste”, but find out for yourself… Musically DEMON REALM present solid work: endless chord-shredding orgies, some moody slower parts and hard-hitting fast drumming all held together by this unpolished rawness that usually makes me compare this genre to Punk or Crust since it has the same “Fuck off, you bastards!”-attitude. Hope no one considers that to be insulting, it’s certainly not meant that way… Well, if you like utter extreme Black Metal and tolerate a decent level of monotony DEMON REALM might appeal to you.
