This output is one of two releases by Svanrenne Music, a new label from Russia. It features the EPs “With Worms To Feast” and “To Walk The Path Of The Damned” by Russian newcomers DISADAPTIVE. Newbies all the way, but do not be afraid, the music and presentation is on a quality level. Besides the common digital download the compilation is also released on CD (100 hand numbered copies in 6-panel digipak with 2 cover arts, including a sticker with the band logo) and tape (limited to 30 copies). Musically DISADAPTIVE are, paraphrasing the title of the second EP, walking the path of Death Metal. “To Walk The Path Of The Damned” was recorded in 2020 but unreleased and “With Worms To Feast” is hot off the rehearsal room. The sound differs a bit, but if you listen the two outputs in a row again and again there is not really a remarkable difference. Every song is around three minutes long, straight forward with no fancy squiggles. DISADAPTIVE are sticking very close to the basic core of Death Metal. So it is even impossible to pinpoint the Russian duo to a certain sub-genre like Swedish, American, Doom, melodic, brutal, technical or whatever Death Metal. Simply Death Metal and nothing more (I often felt reminded of old DEATH with a Tom G. Warrior like vocalist – Frank). The sound is pretty good as well, so it is unquestionably worth a listening for every Death Metal fan.
