A-W-E-S-O-M-E – fuckin’ awesome! This is without doubt one of the best Death Metal albums I heard since a long time and can easily compete with the established Death Metal acts around. Here we have everything: fantastic sound (mixed by Jean-Fancois Dagenais who already took care of KATAKLYSM, MALEVOLENT CREATION or MISERY INDEX), great layout and the most important thing: fuckin’ awesome songs. DISPARAGED play some kind of Death Grind a little bit in the vein of the Florida based Death Metal bands with very high technical claims. Their drummer Heinz is one helluva animal behind his drumkit and his comrades are not inferior either. But all that wouldn’t mean anything if the songs are crap. And this is here the most impressive point, because the songs are really great and don’t lack of atmosphere and feeling. Many of the technical and highly skilled Death Metal bands are playing so technical and complex that you sometimes ask yourself where the songs are. This is not the case here, you get 12 great tunes of sheer brutality with a kick-ass-feeling seldom heard before. Honestly, I’m impressed. And before I forget it: ‘Testify’ is one of the best Death Metal songs ever! Once again and for the last time: I’m fuckin’ impressed. This is one of the best Death Metal albums of the last months.
