Mark my words: this band is destined to become huge if only someone with proper dedication, taste and intelligence would sign them. DWELLING MADNESS are more than another brutal Death Metal band, as the four tracks they recorded for this demo prove it enough. Hellish and technical Death Metal DWELLING MADNESS call their own music, and believe me, this description perfectly fits. And even if they are technical as hell, these four horsemen from Maryland, USA, don’t forget to give their tracks enough structure making them fairly enjoyable to listen to. The production of this MCD is ok really for such a release, its clarity is commendable and does not obstruct the unrelenting brutality of the four tracks. Note that bassist Eric Little and guitarist Gary Daniels both share the vocal duties, in a similar way that what you can find in the oldest PESSIMIST music; and no wonder, as two DWELLING MADNESS musicians (namely Gary and drummer Joe Roffeld) enjoyed a stint in the latter said band some years ago. The four musicians are equally skilled, with a special mention though for the drumming abilities of Joe which amazes me. And mind you, DWELLING MADNESS are certainly not a new band as Gary founded the group more than ten years ago! So you can judge of the dedication and the passion he feels for the music, considering the fact DWELLING MADNESS are still contract less. To give you an idea of the music of this (un)godly outfit, it is sufficient to say that I have found out some traces of MALEVOLENT CREATION (first album) and even an INFERNAL MAJESTY touch (on the track ‘A Blunt Expression Of Disgust’) coupled with a SUFFOCATION-like concern for contorted songs, despite if in the end their style is hard to pigeonhole. And I am pretty sure (or more exactly I strongly feel through their music) that the DWELLING MADNESS musicians are above all real Metal fans, the same way their colleagues in PESSIMIST are.
