EMPIRE AURIGA

When you describe your own band as "an epic tale, timeless vision and a superb recording", I’m afraid you really have to support those words with actual facts which in this case I think EMPIRE AURIGA falls short to say the least. Sure this has a trance-like atmosphere, militant drone, the usual reference to the late BURZUM releases but that is not enough to say this is somewhat original nor compelling to listen at all. It is not that I dislike the actual ambient stuff, as a matter of fact, I enjoy it every once in a while but I have real trouble deciphering any distinguishing patterns on this disc. There is definitely bits and pieces that might appeal to a great extent if used as intros on a Black Metal album of some sort; anything but interesting musical pieces as a whole I must say.
