I so fuckin’ love South America for its countless killer Death Metal bands. Most of those bands have their very own note and know how to create fantastic dark and vicious brutality. So does Lima based EVOKED TERROR, I would describe their style as traditional ancient US Death Metal the way it was played in the late 80s and early 90s. “Summoning Spectral Visions” is already their second demo (I have to admit that I’m not familiar with their debut from 2012) and it contains four dark and malicious hymns. The compositions are simple structured but very effective. Sure, they won’t reinvent the genre but those Peruvian ghouls composed some fine and ass kicking Death Metal. The production sounds absolutely authentic like it was recorded in 1987 and that is great and absolutely suitable for that kind of dark Death Metal. I especially love to hear what the bass player is doing. EVOKED TERROR knows how create a sinister atmosphere without that wannabe ritualistic nonsense most new occult Death Metal bands need to create a proper atmosphere. “Summoning Spectral Visions” is an awesome demo and you should buy it before it’s too late… the tape is limited to 300 copies.
