GALVANIZER
Prying Sight Of Imperception

GALVANIZER are simply a lesson in doing OSDM right! Hailing from Finland, they employ a very simple strategy, stick to the roots, write kick-ass riffs, and add in beautiful melodies. On the opener ‘Servants Of The Scourge’ the band establishes a very clear idea on what’s coming our way. There are no gimmicks here, the drumming is fantastic, it immediately takes me to early 90s releases! It’s really well tracked. The guitars are just relentless, there’s one kickass riff after another. No, these riffs aren’t going to be documented as the first brand new riffs of the 21st century but they sure will be appreciated by the fans of the community for their execution. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!) is what the band is aiming for without sacrificing any arms and limbs. The only observation is that the bass is behind a few layers in the mix, hopefully they fix that on the next release because this is the sound where the distorted bass shines through just like ENTOMBED. You’ve the table ready, the platter is served and now it’s time for you to dig in! GALVANIZER has surprised me pleasantly, this is a delight for the fans of late 80s, early 90s Death Metal and frankly I cannot be objective when the execution has been done with such elegance. Everlasting Spew Records, on their Bandcamp page say that this album is for the fans of XYSMA, early EXHUMED, MACHETAZO, HEMORRHAGE and I couldn’t agree more. If you like Death Metal in any shape or form and want to listen to a nice, solid, 2021 Death Metal record that relies on the greats of the early 90s, check this album out. By no means it’s the greatest of all time, it for sure is a kick-ass album worth your time and the best part is it’s only 30 minutes long! Give it a go. Category: Driving companion.
