HELLAVENGER
The Primordial Fire
(self-financed)
35:15min

Formed in 2011, this is the debut album of one of the best old skull Black / Thrash / Death / Heavy Metal bands that have been erupted by this planet in the last few centuries. This self-released album on tape format was done for mainly getting a deal, and man, with such a strong release these guys should be huge. This is a riff orientated feast where I find SODOM to be a very big influence as obviously is VENOM, but also lets not forget the bits and pieces that recalls JUDAS PRIEST and early DEATH, with some magnificent solos, and damn those malefic riffs. The production values are excellent, listen to me, raw, powerful, old school, I would not touch anything if this was to be re-released, but again the forces of Satan acts in mysterious ways. They have a demo and a promo previous to this monster, and those were already fantastic, but with this they have totally overdone themselves. They add some few effects here and there… is that final interlude based on the music of Metroid? Oh, my I can hear the cosmic horror. One minute they can have a great heavy metallic passage and the next they can burst with such violence and hatred with riffs KREATOR or SODOM would be proud to do in the ’80s. And the vocals, they are like if Angelripper, Cronos and Udo were mixed in a chamber of ages and possession. Few debut albums in the last few years reach a status of masterpiece… well, this is in that line along EURONYMOUS, YOTH IRIA or SARKATOR… add these fine Chilean gentlemen to that group. The closing track ‘Curse From Beyond The Grave’ is the perfect ending for this symphony of horror. And the cover art, depicting a great dragon, spitting the primordial fire, shows us he is the HELLAVENGER! Candidate for album of the year. Contact: hellavenger@hotmail.com
